About the Catholic Legacy Society

What is the Catholic Legacy Society?

The Catholic Legacy Society exists to recognize the faithful who have planned ahead by creating a Will and Testament, Living Trust, or other instrument that leaves a portion of their estate, whether small or large, to the Archdiocese, their parish, a school, or any ministry under the auspices of the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas.

Your grateful response God for the abundant gifts he has given you can be recognized as it is often hidden. In St. Paul's letter to the Hebrews he proclaims that "God will not overlook your work and the love you have demonstrated for others for his name" (Hebrews 6:10), and St. Luke teaches that, "nothing hidden will not be made known" (Luke 8:17). The Catholic Legacy Society helps to illuminate and honor the legacies left by the faithful through the recognition offered by the Catholic Legacy Society. Helps us by being a witness to others with your enrollment.

What types of planned gifts does the Catholic Legacy Society recognize for membership?

A member of the Catholic Legacy Society qualifies through any gift in their will, trust, gift annuity, donor-advised fund, retirement plan designation, or life insurance. Visit "What to Give" on CatholicPlannedGiving.org for more details of gift options. The intention to leave a gift to benefit the parish, Catholic schools or ministries in Northeast Kansas is the most important consideration. The Office of Stewardship and Development encourages the faithful to disclose the specific terms of their gift, but they are not required to do so.

What are the member benefits of recognition in the Catholic Legacy Society?
  • Invited to the annual Deo Gratias event.
  • Your name listed in the annual Catholic Foundation of Northeast Kansas Annual Report.
  • Gratitude from the Office of Stewardship and Development, as it helps the office to record stewardship activities.
What are other ways with Catholic Legacy Society member's names, stories, or stewardship and planned giving records be used?

Catholic Legacy Society members are invited to share their stories how how they discerned their planned gift. We will never publish any of your legacy gift information without your permission.
